MLK’s Secretary to Discuss Transcribing ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’

Discussion with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Secretary, Ms. Willie King. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Feb. 27. College of Southern Maryland, La Plata Campus, Center for Business and Industry (BI) Building, Chaney Enterprises Conference Room BI-113, 8730 Mitchell Road, La Plata. The College of Southern Maryland Institutional Equity and Diversity Office, NuZeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Charles County Chapter of the NAACP present a discussion with Ms. Willie King, who served as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s secretary for four years. While Dr. King was in an Alabama jail for his activism, he wrote on bits and pieces of paper and smuggled them out to an aide.
