The St. Charles Children’s Learning Center at the College of Southern Maryland held its fourth annual food drive to benefit the Southern Maryland Food Bank. All 100 center participants and 33 part- and full-time employees brought donations to help replenish area food banks during the holiday season and teach the children about the power of giving.

“I brought in tuna fish for the people who don’t have food,” shared Launa Burt, 4.

“I brought in all kinds of food for people who don’t have any food for Christmas dinner,” added Rose Crowley, 4. “Some people don’t even have holidays. This will help them stay healthy.”

The St. Charles Children’s Learning Center staff is devoted to creating an environment that helps children interact with their world and peers – building confidence, self-esteem and a lifelong love of learning. Openings for additional children are currently available.
