Pulse of Southern Maryland Survey Will Be Conducted Nov. 7-10 by CSM Students

The College of Southern Maryland will conduct its next Pulse of Southern Maryland public opinion telephone poll from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7-10.

The Pulse survey has been conducted during fall and spring semesters since 2008, surveying Southern Maryland residents on various issues and trends. CSM has provided the community with feedback and trends on subjects such as military presence in the region, health care, recreation, energy, transportation, Internet access, expectations for local elected officials, minimum wage, world events, and national security and safety.

For the fall semester, questions will focus on the presidential election and confidence in law enforcement.

CSM student volunteers will be making the phone calls for four evenings from the college's La Plata Campus.

The college has earned recognition from the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations, District I for its work on this initiative.

The results of the survey are provided to local media for reporting in the Southern Maryland Newspapers.

CSM students interested in volunteering to conduct the poll can register at http://www.csmd.edu/about/pier/pulse/.
