CSM Hosts Regional Conference of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools

The National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools (NAPFTDS) held its annual regional conference Oct. 8-9 at the College of Southern Maryland’s La Plata Campus. The two-day conference touched on meeting the training needs of local companies, legislative issues, strategies for teaching the adult learner and updates from NAPFTDS President and John Wood Community College (Ill.) Assistant Professor Phil Steinkamp and American Truck Association (ATA) Vice President of Safety, Security and Operations Dave Oseicki. The National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools (NAPFTDS) annual regional conference was organized by CSM Transportation Programs Coordinator and NAPFTDS Board Member Mary Beth McCollum, left, and included speakers American Truck Association (ATA) Vice President of Safety, Security and Operations Dave Oseicki, Maryland Motor Truck Association Vice President Craig Talbott and NAPFTDS President and John Wood Community College (Ill.) Assistant Professor Phil Steinkamp. The conference, held Oct. 8-9 at CSM’s La Plata Campus, focused on training needs and strategies, legislative issues and updates.
