Robotics Team to Compete in Skills Challenges to Earn Trip to Worlds
The College of Southern Maryland hosted a qualifier Feb. 5 for the VEX U World Championships but the home collegiate robotics team, the Talons, will need to continue to compete in Skills Challenges in order to earn a spot in the Louisville, Kentucky, competition in April.
Two teams who participated in the Feb. 5 competition, earned spots in the VEX U Championships: Bots 'n' Stuff comprised of students from University of Maryland College Park, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Drexel University, University of Vermont and Vermont Technical College was the Tournament Champion, and SciTech Robotics from George Mason earned the Excellence Award.
The Talons placed second in Programming Skills at this competition. They will compete for a spot at the World Championship at a Skills Challenge event on March 5.
